This is not an advertisement of any kind. I just want to get that out of the way. The truth is that I've been buying my contacts from Lens.com for a few years. I've found their prices to usually be better than my local eye doctor.
Well, I just got an email from them the other day that made me chuckle a bit and I felt like I should probably share it with you. Well, at least the premise of the email anyway.
You see, up until now, in order to buy contacts from Lens.com you had to have your eyes examined by an Ophthalmologist, Optometrist or some other qualified eye doctor that could issue prescriptions for contact lenses. Makes sense right? This is pretty much the same for any other online contact lens retailer.
Well, Lens.com sent me an email the other day that says that I no longer need a prescription from my local eye doctor! They have a friggin' app now that will figure out what my prescriptions is! Can you believe that shit?!
Check out their video:
On their page, they show this simple "how it works" drawing:
Apparently they have their own in-house doctors now! Who knew?
18 years ago, the idea of taking your vision test using an app on your phone was completely unheard of! What an amazing time to be alive!
